Welcome to the Healy Lab at Harvard T.H. Chan

We study environmental microbiomes and pathogens of the built environment because we believe everyone deserves access to safe water and a healthy environment.

Healy Health ‘Omics (H2O) Lab

Welcome to our lab, where we explore the complex and dynamic microbial communities that inhabit the built environment. Housed within the Department of Environmental Health at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, our team combines molecular biology, metagenomics, and bioinformatic tools to investigate how these microbial ecosystems impact human health and the environment. From fieldwork to lab-based experiments, we are at the forefront of research with broad implications for infection prevention, biosecurity, environmental justice, and water infrastructure. Our work not only enhances understanding of microbial threats but also helps inform strategies to protect and improve public health in diverse, real-world settings.
